Alicia, Developmental Therapist
Alicia is a passionate and purpose-driven educator with over 18 years of experience in various educational and therapeutic settings. Originally from Newark, NJ, she is a proud mother and grandmother who has dedicated more than 17 years to serving as a licensed foster and therapeutic resource parent. Her journey began as a YAP (Youth Advocate Program) worker, mentoring girls ages 5 to 18, and eventually led her to a lifelong commitment to shaping young lives.
Alicia has worked in both New Jersey and North Carolina school systems, including roles as a tutor, Instructional Assistant, and Early Intervention Specialist with Simmons Early Intervention Therapy (SEIT). In 2021, she expanded her impact by supporting high school students in Wake County Public Schools as an IA in the OCS SPED program and later as a BST-CA (Behavior Support Teacher Curriculum Assistance).
Her open-minded approach, advocacy for students and families, and strong belief in being a positive foundation for young learners continue to drive her dedication to the elementary school environment—her first and lasting love in education.
